Si White has become a member of a new law firm under the name of Thaxter, White, and Willey with offices in the Clapp Memorial Building at 443 Congress St., Portland, Me. Herford Elliott spent the greater part of the winter at the Ormond Hotel, Ormond Beach, Florida.
The Boston Herald of March 23 had the following item in Bob Dunbar's column about Tom Keady:
"Tom Keady tells me that outside the pitching staff his Quantico Marine outfit has been rather chopped to bits by the wars going on in China and Nicaragua. The two no-hit pitchers of a year ago are available, and as Tom says, 'give them a run or two and they will beat any team.' Good weather down in Virginia means rapid conditioning work."
The new Dartmouth Club of New York is a very active and lusty infant. With annual dues of only $10.00 for non-resident members, it should be extremely attractive to men who have occasion to visit New York from time to time. Stanley Besse writes that he recently spent a pleasant afternoon there in company with Mr. Parkhurst and others.
Eighteen boys from the honor list in citizenship at Tabor Academy were selected to make the annual spring vacation deep sea cruises, along the Spanish Main, according to the Boston Transcript. Whether Lillard went with them or not the paper does not state. Two of the cruises were on United Fruit boats, and one with the Agui Lines to Porto Rico.
Henry Norton's new book, "China and the Powers", is attracting a great deal of attention all over the country as an extremely timely and able presentation of the problem. Another article from his pen appeared in the April World's Work, entitled "Political Fever Spots of the World", and on March 7 he lectured before the New England Women's Club in Boston.
Lew Wallis' new booklet on his summer camp, Miske Mokwa, on Lake Winnepesaukee, contains some unusually fine pictures of camp life.
