When Coach Dent issued the call for soccer candidates there were only five lettermen and veterans to report. They were Captain Woodbridge, Stickler, Schmitz, Johnson, and Stark. As a result the team as it stands is somewhat inexperienced but shows promise of developing into a powerful combination. Rockefeller and Stark are doing commendable work at fullback and will be with the team for another year. Eagan at right wing, Smith at center half, and Cohen at left half are filling three important positions which were a source of worry to the coach.

The first game was played with North- eastern who overwhelmed the Green booters by a score of 4-0. The Dartmouth team was clearly outplayed and showed the effects of inexperience. The second game was lost to Syracuse 2-1, but the team work and training on fundamentals was beginning to show itself and the game was lost on bad breaks. The last game Dartmouth won from M.I.T. by tallying three times to M.l.T.'s one. The green tickers had smoothed out most of the rough places and had little trouble in scoring. For the rest of the season The Big Green soccer men I will face Harvard, Yale, Brown, and Cornell which will be a long hard grind.
