College Receives Statue
December, 1928

At the time of the opening of Baker Library last June a bronze replica of Cyrus Dallin's statue, "The Appeal to the Great Spirit" was loaned and placed on exhibition in the Tower Room on the large center table. This statue is a copy of the life-size original which stands in front of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

The statue fitted into the surroundings perfectly and was admired by all those who came into the room. It was so obviously just the thing for .the place that those in charge of the library were reluctant to think of its being taken out and sent back to the owner.

Now comes word that through the generosity of Judge Leslie P. Snow of the class of 1886 this bronze has been presented to the College and will, therefore, become part of the permanent furnishings of the Tower Room.
