Dartmouth A—Harvard 1
MARCH, 1928

Perhaps the greatest surprise of the winter athletic schedule was the defeat of the strong Harvard hockey team by Dartmouth at the Boston Arena on February 18. The Dartmouth team, handicapped by lack of ice throughout the season, was not conceded a chance of victory by those who had seen Harvard in action. The star of the evening was Rogers, the Dartmouth right wing who was ineligible last semester. Before the game had hardly started he scored on a rebound of a shot of Gardner's and twenty seconds later drove a long shot past Morrill, the Harvard goalie. From this point on the Dartmouth team resorted to defensive tactics in the main and by superb checking and exceptional goal tending on the part of Bott, prevented Harvard from scoring more than once during the entire game. This was the first defeat which Harvard has received this season.
