With a large force of carpenters on the job, work is rapidly progressing in reconstructing the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house on Webster avenue, which was destroyed by fire during the Christmas holidays. Work to date has been somewhat ahead of schedule, and the operations will probably be finished by June 1, although the members of the fraternity will not resume occupancy until the College opens in September.
The brick walls, which were not damaged by the fire, have been cleared of the debris and the roof and first floor are already in place. Workmen are now erecting interior partitions.
The cost of the actual rebuilding will come to about $38,000, which amount is covered by insurance, but the chief loss came to the fraternity from furniture, which was not covered in any way.
