Seven members of the faculty of the College are on leave during the second semester, while four have returned from leave during the first half-year.

Those who are on leave this semester are the following: Frank M. Anderson, professor of history; Rees H. Bowen, professor of sociology; Russell D. Kilborne, professor of banking and finance; George D. Lord, professor of classical archaeology; Arthur Fairbanks, professor of art; Nathaniel L. Goodrich, librarian of the College; and Frederick S. Page, assistant professor of botany.

Professors returning from leave are the following: James W. Goldthwait, professor of geology; David Lambuth, professor of English; Robert E. Riegel, assistant director of the course in citizenship; and Earl R. Sikes, professor of economics.

Eight members of the faculty are continuing their leave throughout the year: Eugene F. Clark, professor of German and secretary of the College; Phillip A. Cowen, instructor in education; George L. Frost, instructor in English; Ernest R. Greene, professor of romance languages; Gordon F. Hull, professor of physics; Ray V. Leffler, professor of economics; L. Dean Pearson, assistant professor of English; and Harold E. Washburn, professor of French.

The resignation of James G. Stevens, assistant professor of education, has been accepted, while two new appointments have been made. Mahonri Young and Prof. F. A. Waugh will "have part-time Temporary appointments in the Art Department. Mahonri Young will lead discussion groups and do tutorial work, and Professor Waugh will be in the course in landscape architecture.
