Separations Decrease
MARCH 1929

Figures released by Dean Bill show that the decrease in the number of Freshmen separated for scholastic failures at the end of the first semester has continued. Over a period of nine years this figure has grown smaller each year. Only eleven members of the Class of 1932 have been separated as a result of failures in the first semester.

The following figures show the decrease year by year: 192 37 1925 32 1926 29 1927 27 1928 25 1929 24 1930 17 193 12 1932 11

This decrease in the number of scholastic casualties among the freshmen is taken as another indication of the effectiveness of the selective process of admission. At least there has been no undergraduate the effect that college work is becoming easier.
