The Dartmouth Musical Clubs returned on April 11 from a ten-day spring trip which included seven performances and carried them as far south as Washington and as far west as Chicago. They enjoyed the copious hospitality of alumni groups all along the line.
The clubs left Hanover on April 1, and gave their first performance the following evening at Ridgewood, N. J. They stayed over in New York until Friday, when they were featured in a big Dartmouth festival at the Biltmore Cascades. Rudy Vallee played for the dance following the concert.
From New York the clubs went to Washington, appearing there the evening of their arrival. Chicago was their next goal. Special cars were provided for this journey, and served as hotel and transportation for the remainder of the trip. Following a concert at the Congress Hotel on Monday evening, April 8, the clubs appeared in Detroit. On the evening of April 10 they presented a concert at Akron, Ohio. After the performance at Akron, the clubs departed for Buffalo, where they gave their last concert. Fifty-one men comprised the personnel, including Prof. H. P. Whitford, director of the clubs, and A. C. Bertch '29, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, the manager.
