Albert A. Abbott with his daughter Bertha spent January, February, and March in California, and he reports hearty hospitalities from his five classmates who live in that state, and a most welcome change from the rigors of a Minnesota winter.
A letter to the Secretary from Charlie Ham, dated at Honolulu, May 28, 1929, reported that he and Mrs. Ham were enjoying a few weeks in that delectable land, and although Charlie has spent practically his whole life within sight of the Golden Gate, he feels compelled to admit that he has at last found something "gorgeous away beyond anything" he had ever seen or known, which is a good deal for a real Californian to admit.
