Evidently as an attempt to subdue the spirits of the freshmen the sophomores turned out in a larger number this year for the annual rush—and were outnumbered only about three or four to one, for nearly the entire freshman class appeared. The sophomores cagily placing a few sprinters in their front rank (their only rank) captured one of the balls immediately, but the other four were hotly contested with the overwhelming numbers of '34 men gradually pushing them back to their goal line. It took the first year men a little over twelve minutes to batter their seniors into defeat—final score, 4-1. Palaeopitus as referees seemed to suffer the most. Dick's House reported no resulting inmates.
