Following the Green Teams

In the absence of Phil Sherman, veteran alumnus chronicler who is absorbing the warmth of the California sunshine while the rest of us in Hanover are breaking icicles from the morning's coffee, I have been asked by the editors to take over these green pastures in an effort to impart to alumni what I may happen to know about recent and current activities of the "Green Teams."

To those of us who dote on spending some of the winter evenings around a blazing fireplace, reminiscing on gridiron achievements of the previous fall, Dartmouth's accomplishments on the football field in 1930 should serve to conjure up the most profound memories within a span of five years. Not since Nate Parker's 1925 eleven went through an undefeated season has a Dartmouth grid aggregation accomplished as much as did Hal Andres' 1930 outfit.

The past season's eleven suffered but one defeat—that in the final game of the season at the hands of Stanford in Palo Alto, California, by a 14-7 margin. Previous to that, the Green walloped eight of its opponents with a ninth, Yale, gaining a 0-0 deadlock.

We do not intend to go into a lengthy dissertation on each of the contests but just to refresh your collective memories we will give a brief resume of the 1930 record.
