The minor teams, which is not the correct appellation, went along their way through the winter and early spring months with medium success. The Dartmouth boxing team under Eddie Shevlin showed that boxing will draw as a sport at Dartmouth when good opposition is furnished. By defeating Western Maryland, and Harvard, the team returned to the affections of the undergraduates by holding Yale to a 3-3 tie. Capt. Billy Alton made only one appearance this year, that against Harvard, and then the hard luck which had pursued him throughout his career cut his work short with a broken hand. Dartmouth lost the final match to New Hampshire to to close a season which saw three victories, a tie and a single defeat. Veres, Peterson, Bean, Wilkin, Brister, Ryan and many others showed skill in boxing, and the team appears to be well fortified for next year.

The gym team lost to the Navy and to M. I. T., but came back to trounce the Army at West Point by a 33-21 score, and to follow that up with a victory over Temple 32-22. The last meet of the season was lost to Princeton when the Tigers flashed a threeevent winner in Clagget to take the meet 38-16.

Capt. Seney closed his intercollegiate career by being undefeated in the tumbling event, and he is without doubt the premier performer in this specialty in Eastern circles.
