The Secretary had a pleasant call the first part of September from Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Reynolds, who were on their way by motor to the White Mountains. Mrs. Reynolds spent the month of August at Kennebunkport, Me., although Jimmie stated that business had kept him in Washington through most of one of the hottest summers on record.

Rev. George Sherman Mills, D.D., has resigned his pastorate of the Wellington Avenue Congregational church in Chicago, the resignation taking effect on October first. George had been pastor of the church for six and one-half years, during which time 161 persons had been added to the membership, 82 on confession of faith and 79 by letter, an average of twenty-seven per year. The total budget of expenditures for the period was $93,504, with $13,929 for benevolences. George's present address is 5,111 University Ave., Chicago.

A notable political event in New Hampshire was the letter from Dr. Hopkins, endorsing the candidacy of Senator Moses for re-election. Although differing from the Senator in the matter of our foreign relations, and declaring that he had never before supported Mr. Moses in the primary, Dr. Hopkins declared that he thought at the present time domestic questions were very much to the fore and that the Senator's position and influence were such that he could ill be spared from his present post. He expressed the hope that Senator Moses would be given the honor of an unopposed nomination, to which President Hopkins thought him entitled.

Scruton has changed his address from Portsmouth to 101 North Main St., Rochester, N. H., and Stowell from Charter Oak, Cal., to Corona Del Mar, Cal.
