Activity on the 1932 Alumni Fund campaign was inaugurated with the class agents' dinners in Boston and New York, March 1 and 2, with President Hopkins in attendance, and in Chicago, March 10, with Dean Laycock present. At the Boston dinner at the University Club, William J. Minsch '07, chairman of the Alumni Fund Committee, outlined the plans for the campaign. He introduced President Hopkins, who spoke informally about the College and answered questions about current conditions. Discussion of details about the Fund campaign followed. There were twenty-five present.
The dinner at the University Club in New York the following night followed the same order, with an introductory speech and plan of campaign given by Mr. Minsch, a discussion by President Hopkins of current problems being faced by the College, and discussions about the conduct of the Fund campaign. Twenty-seven class agents attended.
The dinner of the Chicago class agents, held in the Medina Athletic Club March 10, was arranged under the chairmanship of Guy H. Abbott '02. Dean Laycock, who had just concluded his tour of alumni associations in the West and Middle West, attended the dinner and discussed questions relating to the College.
