Alterations on the Davis Hockey Rink, with a view to improving playing conditions, are now in the final stage of completion. The Athletic Council has spent approximately $5,000 for the installation of dormer windows along both sides of the rink and of air-tight insulation inside the entire roof.

The dormer windows, which have added to the appearance of the rink, were installed for the primary purpose of allowing warm air to escape from around the ceiling of the structure, while the heavy insulation is expected to serve the double purpose of keeping out the heat which beats upon the roof during thaws and preserving the cold air which is confined during zero weather. An insulated space of one foot is being left between the ceiling and a new inner lining, and within this the builders are placing half-inch gypsum insulation and a thick layer of wool.
