Italy Honors Prof. Wood

Announcement of the award of the Italian Bronze Medal of Merit to Professoi George C. Wood, of the Department of Romance Language, was recently received from the Royal Italian Embassy in Washington. The honor was bestowed upon Professor Wood "for the diffusion of Italian culture abroad."

The announcement read as follows: "We, Nobile Giacomo de Martino, Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Italy at Washington, witness that in accordance with our recommendation, there has been conferred by the Royal Government upon Professor George C. Wood of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, the Bronze Medal of Merit for the diffusion of Italian culture abroad.
