The present freshman class, largest in the history of the College, has created another record in the number of sons of Dartmouth alumni among its members. Seventy-six of the 707 first-year students are sons of Dartmouth graduates, which is 12 more than the number in last year's class and far ahead of any figure previous to that. The classes of the fathers cover a span of 24 years, from 1891 to 1915. The Class of 1910, which divided honors with 1908 last year, has undisputed leadership this year with 14 sons in the Class of 1938. The Class of 1912 holds second place with 9 sons, and is followed by 1908 with 8, 1907 with 7, and 1911 and 1913 with 4 each. The sons of two trustees of the College, Judge John R. McLane 07 and Victor M. Cutter '03, are among those enrolled in the first-year class.
