Thomas H. Lane Jr. '35, of Hartford, Conn., was elected editor-in-chief of TheDartmouth at a meeting of the news board on January 18. Under a new plan, Loring P. Jordan Jr. '35, of Wakefield, Mass., will become City Editor in charge of news and make-up, and Milburn McCarty IV '35, of Eastland, Texas, will be Managing Editor in charge of features and columns.
Louville F. Niles '35, of Wellesley Farms, Mass., and Homer B. Dewey '35, of Montpelier, Vt., were elected associate editors; Robert K. Hage '35, of Passaic, N. J., was elected associate city editor; and David A. Buxbaum '35, of Newton Center, Mass., was named sports editor.
Lane, the new editor, is secretary of Green Key and a member of Alpha Delta Phi. He prepared for Dartmouth at Loomis. Jordan is a Sigma Nu and a graduate of Wakefield High School. McCarty, a member of his freshman tennis team, is a member of Alpha Delta Phi and the varsity squash team. He prepared for Dartmouth at Eastland High School.
The new directorate will assume its duties early in February, immediately after the examination period ends. Under its new policy The Dartmouth hopes to model itself more closely after metropolitan dailies.
