President Hopkins was elected vice-president of the Foreign Bondholders Protective Council, Inc., at its organization meeting on December 18. The Council, which was formed last October at the request of President Roosevelt, will endeavor to obtain settlements with foreign governments for the American investors who now hold about two billion dollars' worth of bonds in default. Recommendation for the organization of the Council was contained in the Federal Securities Act.
President Hopkins, along with Raymond B. Stevens, permanent president, and Laird Bell, joint vice-president, will be a member of the executive committee of the Council.
