Connecticut Meeting
June 1934

President Hopkins, Dean Laycock, Earl Blaik, and Sidney C. Hayward were guests of honor and speakers at the annual state meeting of Connecticut alumni held in Bridgeport on May 24. The meeting at the Brooklawn Country Club was made the occasion of the final alumni testimonial to Dean Laycock, who retires from academic life at the end of the present college year.

The dinner was preceded by a golfers' luncheon at noon, golf and tennis in the afternoon, a business meeting of the state association from 5 to 6, a Fathers' Association meeting from 6 to 6:30, and a halfhour reception until 7.

A drive to coordinate the Connecticut Association was started in Waterbury last year, and delegates from five city associations met in New Haven last June to begin the work of reorganization. City associations in Hartford, New Britain, New Haven, Waterbury and Bridgeport are now linked together in a state organization, and a central records bureau has been set up with the aid of the Alumni Records Office in Hanover. A feature of the Connecticut alumni organization is the Fathers' Association, an active group of fathers of Dartmouth men in Bridgeport.
