The Dartmouth Ski Club of New York was brought into being on the evening of November 6 when a dozen ski enthusiasts met informally at the Dartmouth Club in New York City and drew up plans for the new organization. Marvin Chandler '32 was elected chairman of the New York ski group, and others present at the organization meeting included Albert E. Hadlock Jr. '24, Henri P. Esquerre '26, John D. Thees Jr. '27, William O. Keyes '29, T. Truxtun Brittan Jr. '29, Donald J. Childs 29, Charles H. Owsley 2nd '32, Wesley H. Beattie '33, Thomas D. Mann '33, and Jamie H. King '34.
The club will hold a Ski Smoker at the Dartmouth Club of New York on the evening of December 5, at which time the program for the winter will be outlined and new members will be welcomed. The membership fee for the year is $1,00.
The Dartmouth Ski Club of New York Plans to have a Dartmouth car on the ski trains which leave New York each weekend, to keep its members in touch with skiing developments at Hanover and Dartmouth-at-Moosilauke, to effect discounts for its members at New York ski stores, and to have a representative on the Central Council on New York ski clubs.
