ILLUSTRATING THE COVER this month is a view of the entrance portico of the newly completed White Church. The photograph, made by Ralph W. Brown, shows the section of the Church which borders on North College Street just across from Stell Hall. Adjoining the very attractive church is the remodeled and completely renovated old Alpha Chi Rho House which is now used as a parish house.
During the week of dedication and opening ceremonies the community of Hanover has come to realize that the new Church of Christ of Dartmouth College isn't only an attractive addition to village buildings but that its promise for usefulness along social and educational, and religious, lines promises to become an important and enjoyable factor in community life.
AMONG THE NUMEROUS memorials in the .Church are several to men whose names are familiar to alumni. The pulpit and also the furnishings for the primary room are given in memory of Gene Clark '01; the prie dieu, in memory of Dean "Chuck" Emerson; construction of the social hall was made possible through the bequest of Edwin Webster Sanborn '78; and the baptismal font was given by the late Perley R. Bugbee '90.
