The annual fall meeting of the Board of Trustees of the College was held in Parkhurst Hall on October 24, with financial matters, including the Treasurer's Report and the 193536 budget, comprising the major items of business. Edward S. French '06, of Boston, attended his first Trustee gathering, following his election as Alumni Trustee for an initial term of five years at the Commencement meeting of the Board last June. Mr. French has succeeded Edward W. Knight '87, of Charleston, W. Va., who had served the limit of two five-year terms.
The Trustees accepted the resignations of William J. Rose, assistant professor of Sociology, who has gone to the University of London, and of Otto Schniebs, assistant professor of Physical Education, who will continue as Dartmouth ski coach despite the severance of his faculty connection.
Appointment of the standing committees of the Trustees for the academic year 1935- 36 was announced by President Hopkins as follows:
