An elaborate program, built around the Norse tradition of skiing, will celebrate the silver anniversary of the Dartmouth Winter Carnival on February 8 and 9. The Dartmouth Outing Club will present its most ambitious Outdoor Evening, titled jottunheimer Eiskorneval, as the feature of the opening day of the 25th annual Carnival; and the intercollegiate and invitation ski-jumping tournaments will provide the usual thrilling climax to the second day's program.

An intercollegiate ski meet, in which Dartmouth will defend her Carnival victory of last year, is to be held as a major event of the week-end, and the Harvard hockey team and Yale basketball and swimming teams will also invade Hanover to provide opposition duririg the two-day sports program. The Dartmouth Players and the Handel Society are joining forces to present Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates ofPenzance on both nights; and fraternity dances, the selection of the Carnival Queen, snow sculpture, and outdoor sports will supply other annual features of Carnival.

The Silver Anniversary program is under the general chairmanship of Richard W. Hube '35, of Torrington, Conn. Other members of the Carnival Committee are Charles A.
