It has seemed so very desirable, from many points of view, to schedule stiffer home football games, in early season, that the progress reported by the Athletic Council for the fall of 1936 is decidedly encouraging. On November 7, Columbia will play in Hanover. The complete schedule is given in the Green Teams section of this issue of the MAGAZINE. October games with Holy Cross and Brown in Hanover make an announcement that is further good news. Alumni can drive up for an early game in '36 not only to "see the team" but also to see some real competition that will serve to test the team in the weeks when it, and the teams from Worcester and Providence, will be building for the season ahead.
It is our guess that arranging football schedules is the most difficult sort of thing to do. The work must be done far in advance of the season concerned. All sorts of complications enter into signing up opponents for eight or nine Saturdays. The Council must be complimented for its steady progress in this respect over a period of years.
