Dr. M. Dawson Tyson, resident surgeon at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, has been appointed to the faculty of the Dartmouth Medical School and to the staff of the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, it was announced early in March. Dr. Tyson, whose position at the Boston hospital is that of Senior Resident in Thoracic Surgery, will assume his new duties on July 1.

A native of Strafford, Vt., Dr. Tyson received his medical degree in 1927 from the Yale Medical School, where he remained as an assistant in Pathology during the year following his graduation. After a surgical internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, he returned to New Haven as Resident in Pathology at the New Haven Hospital and instructor in Pathology at the Yale Medical School. From 1930 to 1934 Dr. Tyson served as a member of the resident staff at the New Haven Hospital and at the Louisville City Hospital.
