The Barrett Cup award for 1935 was made to William Wyvill Fitzhugh Jr. '35, of Brooklyn, N. Y., at the Wet Down ceremonies on May 29. Fitzhugh, who is secretary-chairman of the senior class, was chosen by the three upper classes of the College as the member of the senior class "giving the greatest promise of becoming a factor in the outside world through his strength of character and qualities of leadership, record of scholarship and broad achievements, and his influence among his fellows."
Fitzhugh is a Senior Fellow, a Phi Beta Kappa student, member of Palaeopitus, and secretary of the Committee for the Survey of Social Life in Dartmouth College. He sings in the glee club, has been active in dramatics, and is one of the best squash players in College. He is also member of the Dartmouth Union, the Canoe Club, Germania, and the Sigma Chi fraternity. Last year he was a member of Green Key, a Commencement usher, and hum leader for his class. He expects to enter Oxford next fall.
