As A WARM-UP for the Yale game, we discovered at New Haven that we didn't need any warm-up, the Newark Luncheon Club held a monthly meeting on October 29. Thirty-eight enthusiastic Yale and Dartmouth alumni heard Herster Barres, Yale '32, and Bob Wilkin, Dartmouth '32, give swell talks on the nature and habitat of the Yale jinx. Among other facetious stories intended to give the dope on the jinx, Barres told of a Dartmouth fullback who was overheard talking in his sleep, "Who is the greatest player you ever had, coach?" .... pause .... then a con- tented, "Thank you, coach." Bob Wilkin gave a swell talk giving numerous funny happenings during his noteworthy football career at Hanover. The next day we all entrained for New Haven. When we had read the Sunday morning papers, we were sure that the trip had been worth-while.
