JACK THOMPSON '29 and Henry Douglas '31 engineered a very successful Dartmouth party on Friday, December 13. It was a "ladies' night," attended by wives and girl friends, who conspired with the Christmas spirit in the air to make the occasion a particularly happy one, like a jolly family reunion. After the excellent dinner was disposed of the company gave vent to several Dartmouth songs and then went to Hanover to see winter sports and Carnival—by cinematic proxy. After that we danced, and "we" includes the 19th century secretary, who had a very good time trying, with the help of graciously obliging partners, to pick up the steps he hadn't trod for twenty years. Much of the success of the party was due to the courtesy of the Telephone Company who furnished a capable operator with a projector for the pictures and "recorded" music for the dancing, the only "charge" being the privilege of showing two interesting films of their own.
