In a further student current-events poll held here recently, Governor Alf M. Landon of Kansas received more than twice as many straw votes as any other 'potential candidate for the 1936 Republican ticket. Hoover, Borah, and Knox were about even, with Vandenberg and Dickinson trailing. The question of more than a five-four vote by the Supreme Court to declare an act of Congress unconstitutional resulted in an exact split. Regarding a Constitutional amendment giving the federal government power to regulate agriculture there was a virtual deadlock, the "No's" having it by a few votes. About 300 participated in the poll.
