Alumni Gymnasium oil March 14 will be the scene of a great interscholastic indoor track meet which is expected to draw the leading schoolboy stars from New England. This is an innovation for the Dartmouth Athletic Council, and will give the prep and high school boys a chance to use some of the finest indoor facilities in the country. It is rumored that the Cunningham-Venzke-Mangan trio may come to Hanover to attempt a new mile record on "the fastest board track in the country."
The amazing growth in skiing interest at Dartmouth is attested to by the fact that 220 students turned out for the College downhill championship sponsored by TheDartmouth. First place went to Richard MacCornack '37 of Callao, Peru, who made excellent time in both runs. First place in the beginners' group went to Robert M. Brown '3B of Montchanin, Del. "Pug" Goldthwait '36 of Hanover was one-tenth of a second behind MacCornack in the advanced competition, with third honors going to Dave Camerer of football fame.
Spring football practice is scheduled to get under way around the middle of March. All the coaches will be present except Joe Donchess, who is now abroad studying pathology. Trainer Rollie Bevan, who has been in Hanover throughout the winter, will also be on the spot to supervise the squad's conditioning.
