George Otis Nettleton—In a roundabout way rumor has reached the Secretary that his many friends in Spokane gave Nettleton a birthday party on the 75th anniversary of his advent into the world on February 12 last. George was in fine fettle. He has always been an athlete of marked ability. He was a great third-base man and a homerun hitter in College. Then he was a member of champion rowing crews in St. Paul, Minn., and champion sculler of the region. On going to Spokane he took up golf, when again he was a top-notcher for some years. He still plays a good game, making the rounds in lower Bo's. George is serving as president of the Spokane Alumni Association. Quite a young old man.
Mrs. Thomas M. Hodgdon died on March 16 last. She had been ill for years with weakening of heart muscles. During this time the Hodgdons spent winters in Florida at DeLand and summers in Maine, thus avoiding extremes of weather and without doubt prolonging Mrs. Hodgdon's life. A slight shock on December 3, 1935, the day before they were to start south, was the beginning of the gradual decline that closed a beautiful, happy, and useful life.
Secretary, R. F. D. I, Traverse City, Mich.
