Tommy Keane's varsity golfers opened their regular season on April 21 with a 7 1/2 to 11/2 victory over Boston College on the Hanover links. Soggy turf boosted all the scores,, but Dick Heneage, sophomore son of the athletic director, was able to turn in a 75, just three strokes above par. The Green golfers capured five of the six twosomes and two of the three foursomes, dividing the third foursome match. Besides Dick Heneage, Dartmouth men who won their individual matches were Bob Heneage, Tom von Tacky, Doug Porter, and Tom Holmes. A1 Bliss fell before Moore of B. C., 2 and 1. Green pairs who won were von Tacky and Bob Heneage and Porter and Holmes. Dick Heneage and Bliss divided their match with McGrady and Moore of B. C.

On their vacation trip to the south, the Dartmouth golfers dropped close matches to Johns Hopkins, North Carolina, and Virginia, and defeated Navy, 16½ to 10½.
