You all received Jack Remsen's Alumni Fund letter, dated April 26, and by now most of you have sent in your check or contribution. Those few who have waited for the June first pay or dividend check should act at once, to relieve Jack's feelings and worries on the class record this year. We hope we can beat the 162 of last year.

At the invitation of George Mulcahy, master of the Deer Island House of Correction, formerly major in the U. S. Army and thrice decorated, George Knight, Emmett Pishon, Sid Akerstrom, lieutenant- commander in the U. S. Navy, and Mose Linscott drove down to the island on April 28 and were served with a bountiful lunch, during which army and college days were rehashed. The repast was further enlivened by insults and recriminations hurled at each other by Sid and the master, old schoolmates at English High, which repartee was greatly enjoyed by the rest of the party. George then took the boys for a tour of the island, displaying his cows, hogs, and sheep with the pride of a farmer; his shoe, stocking, shirt, and clothing manufactories with the eye of a captain of industry; and his immaculate cell blocks and buildings with the ardor of a masterful penal officer, and believe me, George is a master. With insufficient facilities and and appropriations to work with, he is doing a remarkable job. It is not surprising that the Boston Traveler last year editorially called him the ablest penal officer in the state. A most interesting afternoon.

"Amby" Ambrose is among the missing as far as his present location is concerned. If any know one or both of his addresses, will he please advise the Secretary.

May I remind you of the blank for information for the next report? 1938 will be here before you know it, so do not delay, and please fill in all answers as completely as possible. When this is not done, the individual file for each has to be searched

The Sympathy of the entire class is extended to "Caldy" Calderara in the recent death of his wife. "Caldy" lives in North Abington, Mass., with his seven children

An interesting dinner at the Hotel Lenox followed the Heptagonal Track Meet on May 9. Many of the alumni, former members of track teams, and their guests ate with the track team. In the afternoon Harvard, Cornell, Dartmouth, Yale, Princeton, Penn, and Columbia finished the meet in that order. At the dinner brief remarks were made by Bob Sanderson 'll, Wilkins 'l3, Bucky Bates '25, Monty Wells '29, and Chan Hagen-Burger '33. The dinner was arranged by Harry Hillman and Bill Shaw, manager of track.

When the Firestone Footwear Company sold out to U. S. Rubber, Eddy Sides stayed with the company until March and then joined the Gilman Fanfold Corp. of Niagara Falls in the sales department, with his office at 248 Boylston St., Boston. His son has just been accepted for admission at Hanover this fall.

Chuck Stone is now postmaster at Andover, N. H. Those going to Hanover via the route from Franklin to Lebanon pass the post office.
