Bill Appleyard is doing such a good job in Burlington, Vt., that he appeared as news and editorially in the Burlington Free Pressand Times, February 2, 1932. The Central Vermont Railroad and the Burlington Rapid Transit Company launched consolidated service, and the busses took to the railroad tracks. Bill worked out with the C. V. the new rail-bus service, as he is president of the company. "Bill Appleyard in turn has shown that he is about the livest wire in Burlington, and he has been delegated to cooperate with General Passenger Agent Hanley of the Central Vermont in a revival of the old-time winter carnival in Burlington." The carnival was a continuation of the celebration of "the wedding of the Burlington Rapid Transit Company and the C. V. Railway."

Carl Shumway and Win Snow were two of the winners in "The Old Timers" fiftyyard free-style race in the University Club- Fourth Annual Swimming Meet, managed by Chairman Wilkins of the swimming committee. Dan Tyler, the "aging Eli," won therace.

Al Thurman wrote from Pine Crest Manor, at Southern Pines, N. C., that he would be tickled to see any Dartmouth men who happened by. "There is a beautiful 18-hole course here, and rates are reasonable, and moreover there is Pinehurst only six miles away." A 1 is on the road to complete cure, and he hopes to be at home at Raleigh early this summer.

Mose has already heard from many of the boys, and while checks are coming in every day for the Alumni Fund, he is looking for one from each of you.
