The Alumni Editor has before him a copy of the White River Junction Landmark, giving an extended account of the observance of the Both birthday of Secretary Watson, which occurred August 6. The articles goes on to say: "The years donot appear to weigh too heavily upon him,and he must be eighty years young, forhe is still prominently identified with civicand business affairs and is as active asmany who are twenty years or more hisjunior in years. He attributes his presentgeneral good health to good habits andcareful diet, freedom so far in life fromany severe sickness, his determination notto harbor enervating worries, and an activeinterest in healthy sports as a bracing mixture along with business and officialduties."

Mr. Watson was the recipient of many useful and valuable presents, among them a Lincoln sedan.

On the evening of August 18 a surprise testimonial dinner was given at the Oakley Country Club to J. Leslie Woodfall, town engineer of Belmont, Mass., on the occasion of his 77th birthday. Nearly 100 town officials, friends, and guests were present. The Belmont Citizen gives an extended account of the affair, at which various town officials spoke with great appreciation of Mr. Woodfall's long and valuable services to the town and presented him with appropriate gifts. Mr. Woodfall has been continuously in engineering work since his graduation, nearly all of the time in Greater Boston. In 1892 he became assisting town engineer of Belmont, and in 1920 he began giving his full time to the office of town engineer, and his years of service have brought great satisfaction to the officials and citizens of the town.
