To the Editor:
I'd be grateful for the use of your columns in calling to the attention of alumni an outstanding event in the outdoor life of Dartmouth College.
Through the offices of Walter Prager, the new ski coach, the Dartmouth Outing Club has arranged for the presence in this country of a team of Swiss University skiers from February ist until March 15th.
The personnel of this Swiss team is splendid, and the group will make up perhaps the strongest all around competitive ski unit ever to appear in this country. Their presence at Dartmouth will be the big news of the American ski season.
The Dartmouth Outing Club has had fullest co-operation from other skiing organizations to make possible this tour, and the Club is particularly indebted to Mr. Ford K. Sayre and to the Hanover Inn for a generous hospitality which will make the Inn the headquarters for the Swiss skiers during their stay in this country. The whole expedition is being run on something of a shoestring, and if these Swiss boys, who are coming to see America as much as to ski, are to realize the high hopes which they have built around this trip, it will be desirable for the Dartmouth Outpersons interested in Dartmouth, in winter sports, and in the value of natural and sound international contacts that will grow out of the privilege of having these seven Swiss boys living with our Dartmouth skiers for a month.
