What looks like the best intercollegiate ski meet ever held in America is assured for the Dartmouth Winter Carnival this year. Six of the best Swiss university skiers, all members of the Swiss Academic Ski Club, will invade this country at the invitation of the Dartmouth Outing Club to participate in the Carnival meet. With the entry list now including this unit from abroad, the Dartmouth championship team, McGill's strong team, and some fifteen other member clubs of the Intercollegiate Ski Union, the competition should be top-notch.
The Swiss skiers will be in America from the first of February until the middle of March, making their headquarters in Hanover as the guests of the Hanover Inn. Following the Carnival meet, they will enter a number of New England events, including the Eastern Downhill Championships on the Thunderbolt Trail on February 21; the Intercollegiate Ski Union championships at St. Margaret, Quebec, on February 26-27; the Quebec Kandahar on February 28; the Hochgebirge Invitation Meet on the Taft Trail on March 7; and, if still in this country, the Appalachian Mountain Club's Mt. Washington Race on March 14. During these meets the university skiers from Switzerland will be the guests of various American and Canadian ski clubs.
