The January issue of Reading and Collecting, a monthly review of rare recent books, contains an article H. M. Tomlinson by Professor Herbert F. West '22.

Recent publications of Mr. Charles H. Voelker are Prophylaxis in parasigmatism, reprinted from Annals of Otology, Rliinology and Laryngology for December; Amelioration of Dyslogia Mongolia which appears in the October-December issue of The Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology; and an article on President Roosevelt's speech in the Sunday, January 24, issue of the New York Times.

The January issue of the Bulletin of theAmerican Library Association contains a brief article on certification by Paul S. Allen '26.

The February issue of Story contains a short story Boy in the summer sun by Dr. Mark Schorer.

Albert Blumenthal, instructor in sociology, has an article in The American Sociological Review for December entitled The Nature of Culture.

Volume 136 of v. Graefe's Archiv fur Ophthalmologic contains a paper entitled "Studien iiber zweiaugiges Tiefensehen bei ortlicher Abblendung" by Dr. Hermann Burian, Visiting Research Fellow in Physiological Optics in the Department of Research in Physiological Optics, Dartmouth Medical School, dealing with the influence of local screening on the accuracy of binocular stereoscopic vision and with the problem of functional uniformity of the longitudinal sections of the retina.

The same volume contains another paper "Über optokinetische Auslosung von Vertikalablenkung"—by the same author, which treats the question whether a vertical deviation of the eyes can be produced by optokinetic stimulation of the retina.

The most recent volume of Pfluger's Archiv fur die gesamte Physiologie contains a paper written jointly by Docent Dr. G. Schubert of Prague and Dr. H. Burian, entitled "Die Fusionsreaktion, eine bisher unbekannte Reaktion der Pupille," concerning a new pupillary reaction found by the authors and called by them "pupillary reaction to fusion."

A study on "Das Wesen der Naheeinstel- lungsreaktion der Pupille," written jointly by Dr. H. Burian and Dr. G. Schubert, Docent of Physiology at the German University at Prague, has been published in the latest issue of v. Graefe's Archiv fur Ophthalmologic.
