The January issue of Phytopathology contains an article Studies concerning thereaction of barley to two undescribed physiologic races of barley mildew, ErysipheGraminis Hordei Marchal by Dr. Joseph S. Tidd '28. This paper is a dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Dr. of Philosophy in the University of Michigan June 1935.

Professor Robert M. Bear is the author of Disabled readers at Dartmouth College, reprinted from the Bulletin of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars for January. Professor Bear's book, TheSocial Functions of Education will be reviewed in a later issue of the magazine.

Dr. Henry S. Odbert is the author of Trends in the study of personality which appears in the December issue of Character and Personality.

The January issue of American Annalsof the Deaf contains an article by Mr. Charles Voelker entitled A bibliographyfor oral instructors of the deaf listing theten best books on speech.
