In the May issue of the MAGAZINE mention was made of Mrs. John Barrett's accident. This proved to be more serious than was thought at the time. She was able, however, to make the journey from Miami to Burlington, Vt., the last week in April. . . . . John has had another anxiety in the illness and death of his only brother, a few weeks ago Harry Frost telephoned on April 16, to say that he and Mrs. Frost were just home from a motor trip to Chicago. They went out by way of the Finger Lakes in New York state, and came through some of the mining regions of Pennsylvania on their return. They found their granddaughter in excellent health Recent letters from Bard, Flagg, Sully, and Wheat all bring good news At this writing, May 6, the Secretary is regretting his inability to attend the meeting of the Secretaries Association in Hanover May 7 and 8. Instead of this very pleasant annual event he has chosen to go to a centennial celebration at Mt. Holyoke College. In 1837 the charter of that institution was granted. His mother and three sisters all graduated there, and, as members of student body or faculty, one or more has represented the family for more than 60 of the 100 years. One sister is still at the college as librarian emeritus, having finished 40 years of continuous service last September.
