Bill Evans, writing from San Francisco and betraying an optimistic appraisal of the financial standing of the class which (at least in the case of this operator) is far removed from the fact, extends an invitation to all 1933 to be present at the Dartmouth-Stanford pigskin classic and the attendant high jinks.

He reports that Knickerbocker is at the U. of C., getting his "masters" in English, newspaper work and advertising having proven to be sterile fields. Bob Allen and Dick Bee are employed by Shell Oil and a nameless bond house.

Bill plans to have a 1933 class luncheon before or after the game, and in order to make this a success would like to have the names of all who plan to attend the said game. He may be reached through the courtesy of one of those gentlemen in grey at 1245 California St., San Francisco.

FALL REPRODUCTION BOOMS

Almost in the same breath came the announcement of the respective arrivals of Ann—Marie Wachs and Martha Manchester. The advent of the former was heralded in a style which bore testimony to the relation of her father to the production of aeroplane motors. She was described as the first unit of the Wachs partnership and (notice the mathematical exactness) as having come off the assembly line at 12:34 P.M., Sept. 7, 1938. A "twolung liquid cooled power plant," she is on display at the Williamsport, Pa., Hospital.

The nativity of the Manchester papoose was brought to our attention with some- what less eclat. She appears to have put in an appearance at the Worcester Memorial Hospital on September 30. Her name is Martha, but whether she owes her appelation to the Boswell-Crosby rendition of the song of the same name is left to conjecture.

And now, hard on the heels of the above messages, comes the confession from Mackey that he has become the father of another daughter, Linda by name.

While thumbing through an old copy of one of our popular pulps (call it Godey's Ladies' Book if you will) our eyes were held by a cigarette ad from which shone forth the familiar countenance of Bill Richards. Seated in a convertible coupe and wearing a grey snap-brim and a polo coat, his face wreathed in a smile of contentment, Mr. Richards was represented as warning a Mr. Wm. T. Tilden II that a motorist as well as a tennis player had to watch his nerves.

Mr. Tilden, however, appeared to be totally unmoved by this fascinating revelation, and was still placidly poised in a perfect back-hand when we turned the page.

There has just come to hand an announcement of the marriage in Milford, N. H., on June 1, of Harold Hackett to Pauline Cassarino. John Scanlon was an usher. According to the report, the groom is employed by the United States Post Office Department.

Ted Okie was in Waterbury for several hours last month. His purpose in visiting this storied metropolis was to force into line a midget who works in one of the local restaurants. A picture of the midget had been run by Okie's agency without going through the formality of asking his consent. Okie was running a poor second in argument to the little man when we retired from the scene.
