Rankings of Classes on 1937 Alumni Fund Achievement
March 1938

Of these three rankings, the one onthe basis of combined per cent of contributors and per cent of objective isperhaps most significant as acriterion of alt-round accomplishment. It is possible to make a good showing on per cent of objective with a few largegifts but without broadparticipationof the class, and similarly a good showing onper cent of contributors maybe made by emphasizing participation only without re-vard, to amount. 1 he combined ranung strikes a balance betzueen the two types of achievement. It is the basis of the"Green Derby" contestsamong contemporary classes. Details on each class may be found in the chronological table printed elsewhere inthis issue under the title "Con-tributions by Classes in1937 Alumni Fund Campaign," where explanation isgiven of the percentages of contributors.
