A special committee of the Alumni Council on class organization, appointed at the annual fall meeting in Boston, convened before the annual dinner of the Boston Alumni Association on February 9. The objective of the committee as charged by the Council is to strengthen class organization and activities, and to study the possibilities of much more complete coverage of the alumni body with the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. The committee will report to the Council at its meetings in Hanover June 16 and 17.
At the present time the net paid circula- tion of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE is about 6,500, which represents about 50% of the graduates of the College. The last four graduating classes have accepted special five-year group subscription rates for 100% of their graduates and it is the Council's interest in extending a similar plan to in- clude all classes in the alumni body that the committee will first consider. The MAGAZINE is published by the Secretaries Association and this group has often discussed possible plans of achieving 100% distribution of the publication. With the exception of the four classes mentioned above (1934, 1935* and >937) and the classes of 1902, 1910, and 1911, complete subscriptions by all interested members has not been achieved for other classes.
President Hopkins was the guest of the special committee of the Council at its first meeting. He expressed his keen interest in having a practical formula found for securing much more widespread circulation of the MAGAZINE. The members of the committee are: Messrs. R. J. Holmes 'O9, H. P. Hinman 'lO, and Warde Wilkins 'l3, representing the Secretaries Association; and R. E. Pritchard 'l4 and S. C. Hayward '26, president and secretary of the Alumni Council.
