Emerson '17, guest of honor. . . . . Sumner himself captured first place in globe-trotting, by coming over from New York Andy Marshall '22, chief Association poohbah, converted his charming home into a clubhouse just for a night, and left nothing undone. . . . . Sumner Emerson, who enjoys a double-barreled Alumni Council hook-up by virtue of hailing from both Phillie and New York, talked in a delightfully informal vein upon the College and some of the more pertinent phases of the work of the Council .... we're all hoping for a plausible pretext to lure him over again .... stalwarts present included Louie Ekstrom '12, Hugo Gumbart '16, Duffy Karnan '17, Bob Ritter '18, Al Zulick '18, Shorty Gray '19, Ken Smiley '21, Charley Stickney '21, Andy Marshall '22, Lee Jamison '25, Bob Simonds '25, Walt Bowlby '27, King Badger '29, Bob Leigh '29, Frank Merriman '31, Charley Prouty '31, Jim Rick '31, Bill Bucher '32, Walt Ziegenfuss '32, Jack Loose '33, Charley Ganzel '35, Fred Koller '36, Bill Breitinger '37, Carl Erdman '37 ... . dropping in while in the city, "Steel Magnate" Bob Wilmot '34 said hello to the gang .... the next get-together is scheduled for Reading in April, date and place open at this writing .... the only printable gossip turned in is about our secretary .... he reports a new address for his slide-rule and other instruments used by statistical analysts, these gadgets now being secreted in the investment offices of C.
