DARTMOUTH NIGHT this year will be held on Thursday, March 9, it has been announced by Palaeopitus. The Hanover program, which annually serves as the hub of the traditional alumni gatherings throughout the world, will be in charge of Robert F. MacLeod '39 of Glen Ellyn, Ill., assisted by James M. Mathes Jr. '39 of Greenwich, Conn., president of Palaeopitus.
Alumni and undergraduate speakers will be heard in Webster Hall, and the Band and Glee Club will fill their traditional roles. Telegraphic greetings from alumni clubs and groups all over the world will be read as a highlight of the evening. President Hopkins, who is spending the winter in the south and west, will be absent from the Hanover celebration for the first time in some years.
FAMOUS INDIAN ALUMNUS DIESDr. Charles A. Eastman '87, known in hisundergraduate days as Ohiyesa, died in Detroit on January 9 at the age of 78. A fullblooded Sioux chieftain, he had a distinguished career as physician, author andlecturer, and in 1933 received the medal ofthe Indian Council Fire for the most distinguished achievement by an AmericanIndian.
