The dedication of the Ted Wilken Athletic Field in memory of Lieutenant Ray Theodore Wilken '44 was held at Choate School, Wallingford, Conn., November is. The new athletic field, which is the gift of Lieutenant Wilken's mother, is located in the center of the school's playing fields and will be used primarily for football and baseball.

The dedication ceremony included the unveiling of a bronze plaque which bears the inscription: "Ted Wilken Field. Dedicated to the memory of Ray Theodore Wilken Jr., First Lieutenant U.S.A.A.F. Choate 1940 Athlete—Sportsman—Patriot Killed in Action, Europe, Sept. 6, 1943."

Ted left Dartmouth the day after theattack on Pearl Harbor to enlist in theArmy Air Forces. He was shot downover Stuttgart on his sixth raid in hisFlying Fortress, "The Battling Betsey."He is buried in the OISE Military Cemetery, between Chalons and Epernay,France.
