ABOUT 25 MEMBERS and friends attended a Xmas party held Sunday, December 18. Saint Nick put in a special pre-holiday appearance at 4 P.M. Ed Marshall '34 won the treasure hunt which preceded the Cabin party.

An informal gathering was held at the Cabin Sunday, January 15. Charlie McCullough, a friend of our president Frank Ryder '30, entertained with feats of magic, and thirty members and guests who were present testify that the hand is truly quicker than the eye. It is rumored that "Deacon" Hawkins '31 is still puzzled as to how the half dollar showed up in Aunt Polly's ball of yarn!

The first annual Winter Carnival was held on Sunday, February 12. More than 75 members and friends turned out to display their prowess on "the boards." Brownloaf was not skiable but the boys broke out a steep slope back of the cabin, exposing perfect powder underneath, and ran slalom races for men, women and children. Johnny Boermeester '31 won the men's competition followed by Eliot Winslow '31 and Joe Byram '32, Winner of the women's race was Miss Helen Snyder, with Mrs. Ed ('go) Waters and Mrs. Charley ('30) Raymond next in order. Young Sherman Saltmarsh topped the youngsters. Mrs. Raymond was crowned queen of the cafnival.

Over fifty were on hand for the annual In-Town meeting held at the University Club February 14. Ted Hunter's ('38) movies, taken at Garmisch-Partenkirchen two years ago and in Chile the following summer, were shown. After the ski movies, Harry Espencheid '35, former globe trotter, showed his interesting color movies of the Jackson Hole country and Grand Teton National Park.

The next major event on the docket is the In-Town Dance, to be held the middle of March. Bill Callihan '34 and an able crew are handling the details.
