The ground hog made his annual appearance and beat it just before a record 24 inches of white stuff covered his home. While the Hoovers were digging themselves out, Susan decided it was her time, and following an emergency call, the fire department, the rescue squad, the police department, and your scribe with spouse made a dash to the hospital only to be told that Sue was just a bit over anxious. So you'll have to wait until next month to hear of the newest heir apparent.
Since this column will hit the streets as Spring approaches, it is only fitting that you be appraised of all the latest concerning wedding news.

The Vermont fire bailer, Bob Aiken, was picked off base by Edwarda Geric last July in Manchester, Conn. Bob finished three years in the Army and is now toiling for the Vermont Department of Correction. From what I gather Bob is just an excellent husband. The fact that Mrs. Aiken is a judo expert has nothing to do with it. Bob managed to get away long enough to have his oil paintings featured at a showing in Burlington, Vt. Bob, his father, and brother Jim '65 presented a variety of 24 oil paintings and one sculpture in the Chittenden Trust Company's lobby.
There was a nice Dartmouth gathering in Chappaqua, N. Y., last July when Carl Jaeger and Helen Calhoun exchanged vows. Carl is still with Time, Inc. where he serves as assistant circulation director with the Book Division. Mrs. Jaeger is a '63 graduate of the University of Rochester and has a master's from Yale, and is presently teaching in White Plains, N. Y. Carl's best man was brother Dick '59, and ushers were MikeJackson, Dave Walsh, and Jim Murar.

Just to bring to a close the last political year note that Ross Burkhardt ran for the State Assembly in N. H. News takes a while to head up country and I haven't heard how he did. In any case Ross, is in his fourth year as a social studies teacher, and decided to jump into the ring following the death of Martin Luther King.
It's time to sign off and get back on the job; telephone ready, suit case packed, car running, driveway shoveled, baby sitter for the twins, etc.... I wonder if the Pope is busy....
