THE Dartmouth Plaque, awarded each year to the secondary school whose delegation of three or more men in the freshman class makes the best scholastic record during the first semester, has been awarded this year to the Theodore Roosevelt High School of Des Moines, lowa, whose winning delegation of three men made a scholastic average of 3.20. The; members of the top-ranking delegation were Robert E. Fitch, Robert L. Gale, and Fred L. Wells, Jr., all of Des Moines.
Second honors went to the Nichols School of Buffalo, N. Y., whose three representatives had an average of 2.86. Other ranking delegations, in order, were those from Highland Park High School, Highland Park, Ill., three men, 2.60; New Trier Township High School, Winnetka, Ill., four men, 2.60; Ridgewood High School, Ridgewood, N. J., three men, 2.60; The Rivers School, Brookline, Mass., three men, 2.60; and Lincoln School of Teachers College, New York City, four men, 2.50.
The Dartmouth Plaque last year was awarded to The Albany Academy of Albany, N. Y., whose winning delegation of three men had an average of 3.33. The Plaque, engraved with the names of the winning delegation, has been sent to Des Moines to be hung on one of the walls of the Theodore Roosevelt High School.
